Common questions
I don't hear the voice.
Check the Mute button on the navigation screen, then turn the volume up with the side buttons while the voice is speaking. The silent switch does not mute Katrusik — the voice plays like music. In a car, make sure the phone's audio is going to the speakers you expect (for example, over Bluetooth).
Guidance stops when I lock the screen.
Katrusik keeps guiding you with the screen off as long as it can use your location. Open iOS Settings → Katrusik Drive → Location and choose While Using the App.
It says "Navigation needs the Google terms to be accepted."
Routes and traffic come from Google, and Google asks you to accept its terms before your first trip. Tap Go again and accept them in the dialog.
How do I change the voice language?
Profile → Voice → Voice language, then tap Preview voice to hear it. The voice language is separate from the app's language, so you can read the app in one language and listen in another.
How do I change the app's language?
Profile → ⚙ Settings → Language opens iOS Settings, where you can pick English, Russian or Ukrainian. iOS shows this option once you have more than one language in Settings → General → Language & Region.
How do I avoid highways, tolls or ferries?
Profile → Calm route. The switches apply to the next route you build. If you chose "Beginner" when you first opened the app, highways are already off.
How do I save Home, Work or a favorite place?
In Profile → My places, tap Set next to Home or Work, or Add place. You can also touch and hold any search result and choose Save as Home, Save as Work or Add to favorites.
Is there a dark theme?
Yes: Profile → ⚙ Settings → Theme — Light, Dark, or System to follow your iPhone.
When does it warn me about speed?
When you go noticeably over the speed limit, the voice gently suggests easing off. Limits come from map data, which can be missing or out of date, so always watch the road signs.
Does it work offline?
No. Katrusik needs an internet connection to search for places and to build a route with live traffic.
How do I clear my trip history?
Profile → Clear trip history. Your totals — trips, distance and time behind the wheel — stay.
Can I move my places and stats to a new phone?
Only with an iPhone backup. Katrusik has no account and no server, so restoring your new phone from an iCloud or encrypted computer backup brings everything with it. A fresh install starts empty.
Does Katrusik collect my data?
No account, no ads, no tracking, and we never receive your profile, places or trips — they stay on your phone. To search and navigate, Apple and Google receive what they need; the Privacy Policy says exactly what.
Driving safely
Set your destination before you drive, and change settings only when you have stopped safely. Road signs and traffic laws always come first — if an instruction seems wrong, trust the road. If you feel unsure, find a safe place and pull over: Katrusik will wait.
